Introducing: Shaikh. Galal El behwashi
Sheikh Ustadh Galal Elbehwashy is a prominent and well known lecturer at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He holds a first-class Honours Bachelors degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University which he obtained in 1992. He has memorised the Holy Quran under the supervision of Sheikh Ustadh Fatih Rwash Afifi in Giza in 1983. He also studied the Science of Tajweed for 5 years under the supervision of Sheikh Salah Ismail and subsequently obtained a Bachelors degree in Tajweed Qirat Hafas in 1998. He was awarded an Ijaza in the Sciences of Quran and Tajweed by Sheikh AbdulNaser in 2003. He has served as the Imam of Susquehanna Islamic community in Pennsylvania, USA for 3 years. He was appointed as Arabic and Islamic studies teacher by Al-Azhar University in Kabul from 2012 to 2013. Sheikh Galal currently serves as the Head of the Arabic, Islamic Studies, Quran, and Tajweed department of his online Arabic and Quran school. He has over 20 years of experience teaching Quran and Arabic to Native as well as Non-Native speakers of Arabic. Sheikh Galal has been awarded the title of most experienced Quran and Arabic Teacher in 2015 by Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt where he currently teaches.
He served as the imam and khateeb in our masjid in Pennsylvania for a number of years. He’s located now in Egypt. Briefly about him, and he can fill in the rest…He attained his bachelors and masters in Arabic and Islamic studied from Al Azhar university in Cairo. He memorized the Quran at a young age, with ijazah with a shirt sanad from the Quran committee at al azhar. His ijazah is in hafs an aasim by the method of imam ash-shaatibiyy. He’s won several Quran memorization competitions in Egypt. He currently teaches in an al azhar affiliated school for grammar age students.
